About Lesson
Microorganisms
- Tiny living things that are too small to see with the naked eye.
- They include bacteria, viruses, fungi, and more.
- Play important roles in ecosystems, health, and more.
Viruses
- Extremely small microbes that need a host cell to reproduce.
- They can cause diseases in humans, animals, and plants.
- Examples: Common cold, flu, COVID-19.
Bacteria
- Single-celled microorganisms with various shapes (spherical, rod-shaped, spiral).
- Found everywhere: in soil, water, air, and even in our bodies.
- Some bacteria are helpful (like those in our digestive system), while others can cause diseases.
